MOLCURE Inc. (“MOLCURE”) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Axcelead Drug Discovery Partners, Inc. (“Axcelead DDP”) to discover peptide drug candidates leveraging MOLCURE’s AI-driven platform.
Under the project, MOLCURE will apply its proprietary AI-driven drug discovery technology to design optimized peptide drug candidates, using Axcelead DDP’s peptides against a specific target as the starting point. Axcelead DDP will synthesize and experimentally evaluate the designed candidates, and the resulting data will be used to retrain MOLCURE’s AI models and guide subsequent rounds of candidate design. By iterating this design–test–learn cycle, the companies aim to identify promising candidates. The collaboration brings together MOLCURE’s ability to explore and design across a vast array of peptide candidates with Axcelead DDP’s expertise in experimental peptide synthesis and evaluation, with the goal of discovering peptide drug candidates that would be difficult to identify using conventional approaches.
“We are pleased that Axcelead DDP, a company at the forefront of drug discovery solutions business across a broad range of modalities, has recognized the value of MOLCURE’s AI-driven drug discovery technology,” said Satoshi Tamaki, CEO and CSO of MOLCURE. “AI can accelerate the design and exploration of candidate molecules. Turning those gains into the rapid delivery of high-performing candidates calls for experimental validation through synthesis and evaluation, together with feeding the results back into our AI models to inform the next round of design. By combining our respective strengths, we aim to closely link AI-driven exploration with experimental validation and advance candidate optimization as a single, integrated effort. Through this collaboration, we hope to contribute to the discovery of innovative therapeutics that can ultimately benefit patients around the world.”
